IKEA Stockport store opens its doors - look at what you can get inside

IKEA has opened a new Manchester Plan & Order Point in Stockport, specialising in kitchens and bathrooms - have a look around and see its opening hours.

Popular home brand IKEA has opened a new outlet in Greater Manchester - but you won’t get meatballs in store!

The Swedish furniture giant has opened a Plan and Order Point in Merseyway shopping centre in Stockport town centre today (20 March). It’s a smaller store which is focused on kitchen and bathroom planning and has been opened as part of IKEA’s expansion in the North West.

It won’t offer the full flat-pack range like the full-size IKEA in Tameside, but customers can browse a range of kitchen units, appliances and bathrooms in showrooms, along with the PAX wardrobe system, to give them an idea of what they will look like in their own homes. Shoppers can also book appointments for bespoke design consultations for their rooms and also order IKEA items for home delivery or their nearest order point.

Michael Parker, Area Manager, IKEA UK, said: “This new Plan and Order Point, along with one already open in Aintree, Merseyside, and another soon to open in Preston, will allow customers to get inspiration and expert advice in convenient locations closer to where they live. Together with our existing stores in Ashton-under-Lyne and Warrington, remote planning and different delivery and collection services, we’re enabling an IKEA that’s there for our customers, however they want to meet us.”

The store is open Monday–Saturday, 9am–6pm and Sunday, 11am–5pm but you can take a sneak peek inside now with these photos from its opening day...
