Manchester is constantly transforming and it’s sometimes hard to keep up with the changes. While some landmarks have stood the test of time, there are others that have come and gone over the years.
Here are some of the sights that have vanished from the city centre – from the “Manchester Eye” to the “B of the Bang.”
1. Shop at Lewis'

2. Visit the Warner Bros shop
Opened in 1993 the popular kids store closed down in 2001. It is now Build-A-Bear Workshop
3. Cut through BHS on Market St to get to the Arndale
The department store went into administration in 2016. It was recently announced that Sports Direct will be taking over the unit. Credit: Google Maps
4. Ride on the Wheel of Manchester
Often referred to as the Manchester Eye, the giant ferris wheel appeared on Exchange Square in 2004. It moved to Piccadilly Gardens when work on the tramlines began before being dismantled in 2015. Credit: Getty Images
