Manchester is constantly transforming and it’s sometimes hard to keep up with the changes. While some landmarks have stood the test of time, there are others that have come and gone over the years.
Here are some of the sights that have vanished from the city centre – from the “Manchester Eye” to the “B of the Bang.”
5. Cool off in the Piccadilly Gardens fountain

6. The Tib Street Horn

7. Watch the “B of the Bang” wobble in the wind
The “B of the Bang” sculpture by Thomas Heatherwick was commissioned for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and used to stand outside the Etihad stadium. There were continuous concerns about the safety of the sculpture and one spike fell just days after it was unveiled. Photo credit: Getty
