All the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Manchester United as Erik ten Hag looks to finalise his squad.

Manchester United are now preparing for a clash with Arsenal as they look to make it back-to-back wins.

Erik ten Hag’s men bounced back from two goals behind to defeat Nottingham Forest over the weekend, but they are already providing reasons for concern early in the campaign, particularly defensively. Fortunately for Erik ten Hag, there is a little time for him to add more new signings should his budget allow for such manoeuvres, with the deadline this Friday.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Amrabat talks

United are said to be working on a deal to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat.

The Red Devils need more depth in midfield, with Mason Mount now struggling with injury, and Amrabat has been linked for weeks. The Manchester Evening News now report that talks are underway over a possible deal, with Fiorentina likely to hold firm in their valuation of the Morocco World Cup star.

Reports claim the holding midfielder will cost between £30million and £34million this summer, and that will require United to add to their significant transfer spend. Though, there is a real lack of depth in that holding midfield position, and Ten Hag may have been left with little choice.

Mengi exit

United are said to offload 21-year-old centre-back Teden Mengi to a Premier League rival.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: “Luton Town are set to sign Teden Mengi from Manchester United, deal agreed as @RyanTaylorSport reported. Permanent transfer for Mendi who’s set to undergo medical tests soon.”

The move will be seen as slightly risky given United now only have three fit senior centre-backs following Raphael Varane’s injury, which will keep him out for the next few weeks. Mengi was not likely to feature for the Red Devils this season, but Ten Hag does have a lack of depth at centre-back.
