Hojbjerg interest

United are said to have contacted Tottenham over the possible signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Red Devils need more midfield depth, and they could do with signing another player who can play the holding role amid uncertainty over Scott McTominay’s future.

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth,United have now contacted Spurs to see if they can progress a deal to sign Hojbjerg after being offered the Dane earlier this week. Tottenham are said to be likely to command around £30million to agree a permanent deal for Hojbjerg three years after signing him for half that, though they would be selling to a direct rival in United.

United are said to be closing in on the signing of Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted: “Manchester United now consider Altay Bayindir deal from Fenerbahçe ‘on track’ — working on final details and then it’ll be confirmed. #MUFC Official statement not expected today as there’s still some work to do but €7m deal underway. Player in UK since Friday. “

Bayindir will replace Dean Henderson, who is expected to join Crystal Palace in the coming days. United also have Tom Heaton to call upon behind Andre Onana.
