Trafford road closures: six for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Trafford's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 11pm December 14 2023 to 6am May 15 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J7 to J6 - carriageway closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 6am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J7 to J6 - carriageway closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M56, from 9pm February 5 to 5am February 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 both directions J6 to J5 - lane closure for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

• M60, from 8pm February 8 to 6am February 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 7 exit slip road Lane one closure due to repair on carriageway by United Utilities Water.

• M60, from 9pm February 9 to 5am February 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J10 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M602, from 9pm February 10 to 5am February 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
