Trafford's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Trafford's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A556, from 8.30pm June 29 to 5am August 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 7 to junction 5 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

A5103, from 8pm May 30 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 7 to 6 - lane closures, carriageway closures and slip road closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

M56, from 4.36pm January 13 2020 to 6am January 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): No closures allowed unless 5k away between, junction 8 and M60 both directions.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 9pm August 9 to 5am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J9 to J8 - carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 10pm August 9 to 6am August 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct nine exit slip roads lane closures due to resurfacing.

A556, from 9pm August 10 to 6am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, jct six - seven lane closure and slip road closures for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

M56, from 9pm August 15 to 5am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, six to 7 - lane closure for litter clearance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
