Trafford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Trafford's motorists will have 15 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 11 of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M56, from 5am January 12 to 11pm March 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 both directions J8 to J5 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• A5103, from 8pm February 27 to 6am March 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 5 to 8 carriageway closure due to improvement works.

• M56, from 8pm February 6 to 6am March 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, J3a to J5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• M56, from 8pm February 18 to 6am March 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, jct six - three lane closures due to barrier scheme.

• M56, from 4.36pm January 13 2020 to 6am January 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): No closures allowed unless 5k away between, junction 8 and M60 both directions.

And a further 10 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 9pm March 6 to 5am March 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J8 to J8 - carriageway closure for signs - erection.

• M60, from 9pm March 8 to 5am March 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 9 to 12 lane closure and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm March 9 to 5am March 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise jct six lane closures for sign erection.

• A556, from 8pm March 10 to 6am March 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm March 10 to 5am March 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 8 entry slip road closure for signs erection.

• A556, from 8pm March 11 to 6am March 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• A556, from 8pm March 13 to 6am March 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, junction 9 to junction 3 - lane closures due to improvements.

• A556, from 8pm March 13 to 6am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm March 15 to 8am March 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - three lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• A556, from 8pm March 18 to 6am March 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for improvement works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
