Trafford road closures: more than a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Trafford's motorists will have 13 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 10 of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm October 30 to 5am October 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 10 - eight lane closure and closure of slips due to general maintenance works.

• A556, from 8pm October 29 to 6am October 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, J3A to J8 - Lane closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M56, from 5am November 14 2020 to 11pm October 31 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, junction 8 to 5 narrow lanes with contraflow and perm lane closure, due to improvement works.

• M56, from 5am October 6 2021 to 6am November 2 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 8 to 5 narrow lanes due to improvement works.

• A5103, from 8pm August 15 to 5am November 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A5103 northbound, Palatine Rd to M60 clockwise, junction 5 - Lane closure for barrier/Fence Safety Repairs.

• A5103, from 8pm October 15 to 6am November 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 10 to junction 6 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• A556, from 8pm October 26 to 6am December 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, J3A to J8 - Lane closure for improvement works.

• M56, from 4.36pm January 13 2020 to 6am January 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): No closures allowed unless 5k away between, junction 8 and M60 both directions.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 11pm October 31 to 5.30am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 9 to 12 lane closure and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• A556, from 8pm November 1 to 6am November 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 10 to junction 6 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• A5103, from 8pm November 3 to 6am November 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 5 to 8 carriageway closure due to improvement works.

• A5103, from 8pm November 7 to 6am November 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 5 to 8 carriageway closure due to improvement works.

• A556, from 8pm November 14 to 6am November 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 10 to junction 6 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
