Trafford road closures: five for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Trafford's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A5103, from 9pm August 24 to 6am August 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise J9 to J5 - slip road closures for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

A5103, from 8pm May 30 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 7 to 6 - lane closures, carriageway closures and slip road closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

M56, from 4.36pm January 13 2020 to 6am January 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): No closures allowed unless 5k away between, junction 8 and M60 both directions.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M602, from 9pm September 2 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, 11 to 12 - lane closure for barriers.

M56, from 9pm September 4 to 5am September 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, jct eight - six lane closures a slip road closures due to drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
