Trafford road closures: eight for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Trafford's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 8pm May 30 to 6am October 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 7 to 6 - lane closures, carriageway closures and slip road closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M56, from 8pm October 9 to 6am October 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 both directions J3A to J8 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A5103, from 8pm October 16 to 6am October 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, jct seven to 5 lane closures and carriageway closure due to improvements.

• M60, from 9pm October 16 to 5am October 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 5 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

• M56, from 8pm October 21 to 6am October 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 both directions J3A to J8 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• A556, from 8pm October 23 to 6am October 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions J3A to J8 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm October 23 to 5am October 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 9 exit slip road Lane one closure due to works on Parkway for TfGM.

• M60, from 11pm October 26 to 4am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 10 exit slip road Lane four closure due to works on Redclyffe Circle by TfGM.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
