Trafford road closures: a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Trafford's motorists will have 12 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And 10 of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 8.30pm July 9 to 5am July 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise jct five -7 - A5103 northbound, lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance.

• A556, from 8.30pm June 29 to 5am August 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 7 to junction 5 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

• A5103, from 8pm May 30 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 7 to 6 - lane closures, carriageway closures and slip road closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M56, from 4.36pm January 13 2020 to 6am January 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): No closures allowed unless 5k away between, junction 8 and M60 both directions.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 8pm July 11 to 5am July 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 9 to junction 10 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• M60, from 8.30pm July 11 to 5am July 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise jct five -7 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance.

• A5103, from 9pm July 13 to 5am July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 5 - eight Lanes one and two closed with closure of, junction 6 exit and CD link and junction 7 and eight exit and entry slips with ring management on, junction 8 roundabout due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 8.30pm July 15 to 5am July 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 9 - five Lanes one and two closed with closure of, junction 8 exit and CD link and junction 7 and six exit and entry slips with ring management on, junction 8 roundabout due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm July 15 to 5am July 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 9 to junction 11 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 8.30pm July 17 to 5am July 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 6 to junction 9 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

• M60, from 8.30pm July 20 to 5am July 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clock and Anticlockwise, junction 11 - six carriageway closure for horticulture works.

• M60, from 8pm July 23 to 5am July 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti- clockwise, junction 6 -, junction 4 lane closure for barriers - temporary.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
