Road closures: six for Trafford drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Trafford will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And they are all are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A5103, from 9pm November 11 2023 to 6am February 1 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, jct nine to 7 lane closures and slip road closures due to resurfacing scheme.

• A5103, from 11pm December 14 2023 to 6am May 15 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J7 to J6 - carriageway closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 6am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J7 to J6 - carriageway closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A5103, from 8pm January 22 to 6am January 24, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, jct five to 9 lane closures and carriageway closure due to improvements.

• A5103, from 8pm January 24 to 6am January 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, jct seven to 5 lane closures and carriageway closure due to improvements.

• A5103, from 11pm January 27 to 5am January 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 4 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
