Road closures: six for Trafford drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Trafford will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Trafford will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A5103, from 9pm November 11 2023 to 6am February 1 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, jct nine to 7 lane closures and slip road closures due to resurfacing scheme.

A5103, from 11pm December 14 2023 to 6am May 15 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J7 to J6 - carriageway closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 11pm January 6 to 5am January 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 7 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 11pm January 6 to 5am January 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J6 to J8 - lane closure for white lining/road markings.

A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 6am June 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J7 to J6 - carriageway closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

A5103, from 8pm January 8 to 6am January 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, jct seven to 5 lane closures and carriageway closure due to improvements.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
