Road closures: nine for Trafford drivers this week

Drivers in and around Trafford will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And they are all are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M56, from 8pm March 6 to 6am April 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, junction 9 to junction 3 - lane closures due to improvements.

• M56, from 4.36pm January 13 2020 to 6am January 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): No closures allowed unless 5k away between, junction 8 and M60 both directions.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A5103, from 8pm April 3 to 6am April 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, junction 5 to 8 carriageway closure due to improvement works.

• M56, from 8pm April 4 to 6am April 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 westbound, J3A to J8 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 6.30am to 4pm on April 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 7 slip road closures due to off network event.

• M60, from 6.30am to 7pm on April 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 7 slip road closures due to off network event.

• M60, from 8pm April 17 to 5am April 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J6 to J4 - carriageway closure for communications.

• M56, from 9pm April 17 to 6am July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, lane closures and carriageway closures due to resurfacing.

• M60, from 9pm April 17 to 5am April 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 westbound, junction 3 - one Lane and carriageway closure for signs erection.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
