Road closures: four for Trafford drivers over the next fortnight
Drivers in and around Trafford will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• M56, from 4.36pm January 13 2020 to 6am January 1 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): No closures allowed unless 5k away between, junction 8 and M60 both directions.
And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M60, from 8pm September 19 to 6am September 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.
• M60, from 8pm September 22 to 6am September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.
• A556, from 8pm September 25 to 6am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions J3A to J8 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
