Road closures: almost a dozen for Trafford drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Trafford will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A556, from 9pm December 3 to 6am December 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, jct six - seven lane closure and slip road closures for drainage on behalf of National Highways.

And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 11pm December 5 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 11pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 9pm December 9 to 5am December 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J5 to J7 - carriageway closure for white lining/road markings.

• A5103, from 8pm December 11 to 7am December 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 7 to 6 - lane closures, carriageway closures and slip road closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 8pm December 11 2023 to 6am February 17 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M602 both directions, junction 1 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for signs - erection.

• M60, from 11pm December 11 to 6am December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 11pm December 13 to 6am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 11pm December 16 to 6am December 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 11pm December 18 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J9 to J11 - lane closure for construction - bridge/structure.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
