Tameside road closures: six for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Tameside's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Tameside's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

M67, from 8pm August 11 2023 to 6am December 27 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, one to 4 - narrow lanes for construction - bridge/structure.

M60, from 8pm March 27 2023 to 6am May 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures for Structure Reconstruction.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 10pm October 31 to 4am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 24 roundabout - M67 westbound, jct 1a to Denton Island lane closures due to electrical works.

A57, from 8pm November 8 to 6am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 westbound, junction 4 to J3 - lane closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

A628, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on November 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 eastbound, Tintwistle, lane closure for BT works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
