Tameside road closures: nine for motorists to avoid this week

Tameside's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Tameside's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm December 1 2022 to 6am January 21 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 23 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

M67, from 9pm August 29 2022 to 6am August 18 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

A57, from 9.30am January 11 to 3.30pm January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, from M67 to B6174 works on the footway and multiway lights.

A628, from 9.30am January 11 to 3.30pm January 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 eastbound, Tintwisle, Lane closure for digital Infrastructure.

A628, from 8am to 5pm on January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 westbound, at, junction with Taylor Street lane one closure due to rebuild of chamber in carriageway.

M60, from 8.30pm January 18 to 5am January 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 23 Access to junction 23 Access - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M67, from 8pm January 20 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 westbound, junction 3 - one lane closures due to inspections.

M60, from 9pm January 23 to 5am January 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, Denton Island to Hattersley Roundabout - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
