Tameside road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid this week

Tameside's motorists will have 10 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm December 1 to 6am December 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 23 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M67, from 9pm August 29 2022 to 6am August 18 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A57, from 9.30am December 5 to 3.30pm December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, from M67 to B6174 works on the footway and multiway lights.

• A57, from 9.30am December 8 to 3.30pm December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, from, junction B6174 to junction 6018 works on the footway.

• A57, from 9.30am December 8 to midday, December 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, from, junction B6174 to junction A6018 works on footway signals only due to works on footway.

• A57, from 8.30pm December 8 to 5am December 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, M67, junction 3 to A6018 - carriageway closure for White Lining/Road Markings.

• M60, from 8pm December 13 to 6am December 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, M60 to J5 - Lane closure for communications.

• M67, from 9pm December 15 to 6am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 westbound, J3 to J2 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 8pm December 16 to 5am December 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 23 to junction 24 - lane closure for communications.

• A628, from 8pm December 19 to 6am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 westbound, at, junction with Taylor Street lane one closure due to rebuild of chamber in carriageway.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
