Tameside road closures: almost a dozen for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Tameside's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Tameside's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

M67, from 8pm August 11 2023 to 6am December 27 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, one to 4 - narrow lanes for construction - bridge/structure.

M60, from 8pm March 27 2023 to 6am May 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures for Structure Reconstruction.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A57, from 8pm December 6 to 5am December 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A57 northbound, works on footway and carriageway outside the filling station entrance due to excavation.

A57, from 8pm December 8 to 6am December 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 westbound, junction 4 to J3 - lane closure and carriageway closure for electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

M60, from 8.30pm December 9 to 5am December 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 21 to 24 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8.30pm December 10 to 5am December 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 22 to junction 24 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 8.30pm December 11 to 5am December 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 25 to junction 23 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

M60, from 8.30pm December 12 to 5am December 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 23 - one lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

A628, from 9.30am to 3pm on December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 eastbound and westbound, Tintwhistle, traffic signals for sign works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
