Road closures: six for Tameside drivers this week

Drivers in and around Tameside will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Tameside will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm December 1 2022 to 6am March 25 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 23 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

M67, from 9pm August 29 2022 to 6am August 18 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

M60, from 8pm March 9 to 5am March 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 24 lane closure for sign erection.

M60, from 8.30pm March 19 to 5am March 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, Denton Island to Hattersley Roundabout - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 8pm March 20 to 6am April 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Clock and Anticlockwise, junction 27 to 28 carriageway closure for inspection works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
