Road closures: six for Tameside drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Tameside will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Tameside will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm July 10 to 6am August 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J21 to J25 - carriageway closure for electrical works.

M67, from 8pm July 2 to 8pm August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures due to bridge works.

M60, from 8.30pm June 30 to 5am October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

M60, from 8pm March 27 2023 to 6am May 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures for Structure Reconstruction.

And one more closure will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8pm July 31 to 5am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 24 - 25 lane closures due to maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
