Road closures: nine for Tameside drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Tameside will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8.30pm June 30 to 5am October 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 2 to junction 1 - Lane closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

• M67, from 8pm August 11 2023 to 6am December 27 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, one to 4 - narrow lanes for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 8pm March 27 2023 to 6am May 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures for Structure Reconstruction.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 8pm September 18 to 5am September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J23 to J24 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M67, from 9pm September 22 to 5am September 23, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 westbound, junction 3 to 3 - lane closures and slip road closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.

• A57, from 7pm September 25 to 5am September 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, Back Moor to Coach Rd - two-way signals for drainage.

• M60, from 8pm September 25 to 6am September 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, one to 4 - Lane closure and carriageway closures for maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm September 27 to 5am October 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J25 to J24 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
