Road closures: eight for Tameside drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Tameside will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Tameside will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm December 30 2023 to 5am January 1 2024, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 23 to junction 22 - lane closure for barriers - permanent on behalf of National Highways.

M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

M67, from 8pm August 11 2023 to 6am December 27 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, one to 4 - narrow lanes for construction - bridge/structure.

M60, from 8pm March 27 2023 to 6am May 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures for Structure Reconstruction.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

A57, from 8pm January 2 to 5am January 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound and westbound, Hyde Road works in footway and two-way traffic signals.

M67, from 8pm January 3 to 6am January 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 westbound, three to 1 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

M60, from 8pm January 7 to 6am January 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 westbound, three to 1 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

A628, from 9.30am to 3.30pm on January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 eastbound, Tintwistle, lane closure for BT works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
