Road closures: almost a dozen for Tameside drivers this week

Drivers in and around Tameside will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M67, from 9pm February 12 to 5am February 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 westbound, junction 3 to 4 lane closure for barrier works.

• A57, from 10.22am February 9 to 3.30pm February 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 westbound, works on footway with carriageway incursion due to works by United Utilities.

• M60, from 9pm December 1 2022 to 6am February 28 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 23 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

• M67, from 9pm August 29 2022 to 6am August 18 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8.30pm February 15 to 5am February 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct one - 24 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

• M67, from 9pm February 16 to 6am February 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 westbound, J3 to J1 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• A628, from 8am to 5pm on February 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 westbound, at, junction with Taylor Street lane one closure due to rebuild of chamber in carriageway.

• M60, from 8pm February 20 to 6am February 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J24 to J22 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8.30pm February 21 to 5am February 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J22 to J24 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm February 27 to 3am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 24 exit slip road Lane one due to works by siems on behla of TfgM.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
