Road closures: almost a dozen for Tameside drivers this week

Drivers in and around Tameside will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And six of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M67, from 8pm August 3 to 6am August 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, j3 to j3 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm July 4 to 6am August 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise j24 to j24 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 8pm August 8 to 6am August 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J24 to J22 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M67, from 9pm August 8 to 5am August 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, between Denton Island and junction 3 lane closures and carriageway closures due to general maintenance works.

• M67, from 9pm August 10 to 5am August 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, between Denton Island and junction 3 lane closures and carriageway closures due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm August 15 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M67, from 8pm August 16 to 5am August 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound, junction 1A to 3 - Lane closure for communications.

• A57, from 9.30am to midday, on August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, Back moor, Lane closure for electrical works.

• A57, from 9.30am August 22 to 3.30pm August 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 westbound, Hyde Road two-way traffic signals.

• M67, from 9pm August 22 to 5am August 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 westbound, junction 3 - two Lanes one and two westbound, road closure due to Structure maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
