Road closures: almost a dozen for Tameside drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Tameside will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M67, from 9pm January 10 2023 to 5am February 26 2025, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, J1a to J3 - carriageway closure for Structure - New/Reconstruction.

• M67, from 9pm August 29 2022 to 6am August 18 2025, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to bridge works.

• M60, from 8pm March 27 2023 to 6am May 3 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures for Structure Reconstruction.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A57, from 7pm to 10pm on May 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, from, junction A6018 between No's 139 - 141 Contraflow in place due to replacement of manhole frame.

• A57, from 8pm June 1 to 5am June 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, Carrhouse Lane to Coach Road - lane closure for drainage.

• A628, from 9pm June 1 to 5am June 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 eastbound and westbound, Tintwhistle, traffic lights for carriageway repairs.

• A628, from 7pm to 11.59pm on June 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A628 eastbound, Tintwistle, lane closure for UU works.

• M60, from 9pm June 6 to 5am June 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M67 eastbound and westbound, Denton Island to Hattersley Roundabout - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• A57, from 9.30am June 7 to 3.30pm June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 Hyde Road- Mottram Moor - traffic Lights due to BT.

• A57, from 9pm June 12 to 5am June 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A57 eastbound, Back Moor to Carrhouse lane, lane closure due to communication works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
