New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Tameside’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Tameside’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them both.

James Convenience Retail, at Bus Station, Wellington Road, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on October 10.

And S Williams And Sons, at Stall 30 Market Hall, Market Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside was also given a score of five on October 10.

It means that of Tameside's 331 takeaways with ratings, 138 (42%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
