Food hygiene ratings handed to eight Tameside establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of Tameside’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to six restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: McDonalds Restaurant at 49 Warrington Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside; rated on October 17

• Rated 5: Everest Cafe at 46 Old Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside; rated on October 13

• Rated 5: BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Temple at Baps Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Lees Road, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside; rated on October 12

• Rated 5: Notcutts Ashton Park Garden Centre (Cafe) at Notcutts Ashton Park Garden Centre, Lord Sheldon Way, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside; rated on October 11

• Rated 5: Active Tameside At Active Copley at Copley Leisure Centre, Huddersfield Road, Stalybridge, Tameside; rated on October 10

• Rated 3: Werneth Low Golf Club at Werneth Low Road, Hyde, Tameside; rated on September 14
