New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of Tameside’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Bridge View Cafe, at 1 Heritage Wharf, Portland Place, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside was handed a five-out-of-five rating after assessment on December 8.

And Waterloo Village Cafe, at 292 Oldham Road, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside was given a score of three on November 7.

It means that of Tameside's 294 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 205 (70%) have ratings of five and just two have zero ratings.
