Stockport road closures: three for motorists to avoid this week

Stockport's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures are due to start this week:

• M60, from 9pm April 15 to 5am April 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 2 to junction 1 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm April 15 to 5am April 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 25 to junction 27 - carriageway closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

• M60, from 9pm April 16 to 5am April 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 2 to junction 1 - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
