Stockport road closures: three for motorists to avoid this week

Stockport's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And they are all are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm January 26 to 5am February 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J24 to J25 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

• M56, from 8pm January 6 to 7am February 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link road closure to A34 northbound, due to gas works.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

• M56, from 8pm February 7 to 6am February 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J5 to J1 - lane closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
