Stockport road closures: three for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Stockport's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And they are all are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm August 21 to 5am August 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 24 exit slip road closure due to bridge examination.

M56, from 8pm July 28 to 7am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link road closure to A34 northbound, due to gas works.

A5103, from 8.30pm August 21 to 5am September 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 3 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for construction - bridge/structure.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
