Stockport road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Stockport's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm June 26 to 6am June 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 to 4 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 5am April 20 to 5am July 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 - Lane closure for barriers - Permanent.

• M60, from 9pm April 20 to 5am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise one to 25 - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M56, from 8pm June 28 to 6am June 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link to A34 northbound, - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 9pm July 1 to 5.30am July 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 24 to 27 lane closures and slip road closures due to general maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm July 3 to 6am July 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 1 - 27 lane closures and slip road closure due to inspections.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
