Stockport road closures: six for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Stockport's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Stockport's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm February 1 to 6am March 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 24 to two - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

And a further five closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8pm February 27 to 5am February 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J2 to J27 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.

M60, from 8pm February 28 to 6am February 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J2 to J1 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 8pm February 29 to 6am March 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J3 to J1 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

A5103, from 8pm March 2 to 5am March 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 8pm March 4 to 6am March 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J3 to J1 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
