Stockport's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Stockport's motorists will have nine road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8pm July 9 to 5am July 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J2 to J27 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

And a further eight closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8pm July 10 to 5am July 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J2 to J25 - lane closure for communications.

M56, from 8pm July 11 to 6am July 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J1 to J3 - carriageway closure for signs - maintenance.

M60, from 8pm July 14 to 5am July 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise jct 24 - 25 lane closures due to maintenance.

M60, from 8pm July 17 to 5am July 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 27 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

M56, from 10pm July 17 to 6am July 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link to A34 northbound, carriageway closure due to bridge works.

M56, from 10pm July 18 to 6am July 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 southbound, link road to M56 westbound, carriageway closure due to bridge works.

M56, from 8pm July 19 to 5am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 westbound, M60A to M56 - lane closure for drainage.

M60, from 10pm July 24 to 5am July 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 3 lane closure due to railway bridge.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
