Stockport road closures: four for motorists to avoid this week

Stockport's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Stockport's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M56, from 8pm January 6 to 7am February 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link road closure to A34 northbound, due to gas works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

M56, from 8pm January 17 to 5.30am January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J3 to J3 - lane closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

M60, from 9pm January 26 to 5am February 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J24 to J25 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

M60, from 8pm January 27 to 6am January 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J26 to J1 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
