Stockport road closures: four for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight
Stockport's motorists will have four road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• M60, from 8.30pm September 17 to 5am September 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 1 to junction 25 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).
And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M56, from 9pm September 21 to 5am September 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 to M56 westbound, junction 2 - lane closure for barriers - permanent.
• M56, from 10pm September 21 to 6am September 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct five to 2 lane closures and slip road closure due to inspections.
• M60, from 8pm September 27 to 5am October 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J25 to J24 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
