Stockport road closures: five for motorists to avoid this week

Stockport's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm March 1 to 6am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise A34 J3 to M60 CW and ACW - carriageway closure for barriers.

M60, from 9pm April 20 to 5am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise one to 25 - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

M56, from 8pm June 6 to 6am June 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J3 to J1 - carriageway closure for drainage.

M60, from 8pm June 10 to 5am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J2 to J4 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

M60, from 8pm June 10 to 6am June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J27 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
