Stockport road closures: five for motorists to avoid over the next fortnight

Stockport's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Stockport's motorists will have five road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And they are all are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M56, from 9pm December 4 to 5am December 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions J1 to J25 - lane closures and slip closure for drainage.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8.30pm December 12 to 5am December 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 23 - one lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8.30pm December 14 to 5am December 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct one - 24 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8.30pm December 16 to 5am December 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 24 to one - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 8.30pm December 17 to 5am December 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 1 to 25 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
