Stockport road closures: eight for motorists to avoid this week

Stockport's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Stockport's motorists will have eight road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 9pm August 9 to 6am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 5 to 1 - Lane closures and carriageway closures for drainage.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

M60, from 8pm August 30 to 5am August 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 27 exit slip road Lane one closure due to works for TfGM on Tivot Way.

M56, from 8.30pm August 30 to 5am September 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J4 to J2 - carriageway closure for barriers.

M60, from 8pm September 1 to 5am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 1 to junction 2 - Lane closure for communications.

M56, from 8.30pm September 1 to 5am September 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J3 to J3 - carriageway closure for temporary barriers.

M60, from 8.30pm September 2 to 5am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 3 slips closure - for temporary barriers.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
