Road closures: more than a dozen for Stockport drivers this week

Drivers in and around Stockport will have 14 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And eight of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that seven closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 8pm March 20 to 5am March 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 2 to 27 lane closures due to structure maintenance works.

• M60, from 9pm March 1 to 5am April 7, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise A34 J3 to M60 CW and ACW - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 5am March 1 to 5am April 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 entry slip road lane closures due to barrier repairs.

• M56, from 8.30pm February 27 to 6am April 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 - three lane closures and slip road closures due to barrier repairs.

• M56, from 8.30pm December 13 2021 to 6am April 9 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 2 - three lane closures and slip road closures due to barrier repairs.

• M60, from 8pm March 17 to 5am April 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise 24 - 26 lane closures and mainline closures due to resurfacing.

• A5103, from 5pm January 1 to midnight, May 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): Manchester United home Game (3 hours after kick off).

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M56, from 9pm March 28 to 5am April 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 1 to M60 Anticlockwise, junction 2 - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 9pm March 28 to 5am April 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise M60 CW J2 access slip to M60 CW J2 end of access slip - Lane closure for barriers.

• M60, from 8pm March 29 to 5am March 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 1 to 2 - Lane closure for signs - Erection.

• M56, from 8pm April 1 to 5am April 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link road closure to A34 northbound, due to gas works.

• M60, from 8.30pm April 1 to 5am April 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 27 - two lane closures due to maintenance works.

• M60, from 8pm April 8 to 6am April 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise J24 to J1 - Lane closure for inspection/survey.

• M60, from 9pm April 11 to 5am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise one to 25 - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
