Road closures: four for Stockport drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Stockport will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M56, from 8pm July 28 to 7am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, link road closure to A34 northbound, due to gas works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M60, from 9pm August 17 to 5am August 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 5 to junction 2 - lane closure for horticulture.

• A5103, from 8.30pm August 21 to 5am September 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 both directions, junction 3 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for construction - bridge/structure.

• M60, from 9pm August 21 to 5am August 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 24 exit slip road closure due to bridge examination.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
