Road closures: five for Stockport drivers this week

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start this week:

M56, from 9pm October 3 to 6am October 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 1 to junction 4 - carriageway closure for drainage.

M60, from 8pm October 8 to 5am October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anticlockwise, junction 27 exit slip Lane one closure due to repair of Pedestrian Hand Rail.

M60, from 8.30pm October 14 to 5am October 16, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 24 to junction 27 - carriageway closure for Central Reservation.

M56, from 9pm October 17 to 5am October 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 26 to junction 4 - Lane closures and carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

M60, from 9pm October 17 to 6am October 18, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J1 to J24 - carriageway closure for inspection/survey.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
