Road closures: five for Stockport drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Stockport will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Stockport will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And they are all are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M60, from 8.30pm September 9 to 5am September 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct 23 - one lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8.30pm September 12 to 5am September 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anticlockwise jct one - 24 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

M60, from 8.30pm September 15 to 5am September 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 24 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 8.30pm September 17 to 5am September 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 1 to junction 25 - carriageway closure for horticulture (cutting and planting).

M56, from 10pm September 21 to 6am September 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct five to 2 lane closures and slip road closure due to inspections.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
