Road closures: eight for Stockport drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Stockport will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Stockport will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A5103, from 8.30pm June 24 to 5am June 26, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 4 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

And a further seven closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M60, from 8pm June 26 to 3am July 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 27 lane closure due to electrical works.

M60, from 8pm June 28 to 5am June 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions J25 to J24 - lane closure for communications.

M60, from 8pm June 29 to 5am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J2 to J1 - lane closure for communications.

M60, from 8.30pm June 29 to 5am July 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 27 to junction 3 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M56, from 8.30pm July 2 to 5am July 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 3 to junction 1 - carriageway closure for horticulture.

M60, from 8pm July 5 to 5am July 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 27 - carriageway closure for structure - maintenance.

M60, from 8pm July 9 to 5am July 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J2 to J27 - lane closure for structure - maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
