Road closures: almost a dozen for Stockport drivers this week

Drivers in and around Stockport will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And seven of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm March 1 to 6am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise A34 J3 to M60 CW and ACW - carriageway closure for barriers.

• M60, from 5am April 20 to 5am July 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise, junction 3 - Lane closure for barriers - Permanent.

• M60, from 9pm April 20 to 5am August 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise one to 25 - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

And a further seven closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M56, from 8pm June 6 to 6am June 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise and anti-clockwise J3 to J1 - carriageway closure for drainage.

• M56, from 8.30pm June 6 to 6am June 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound, J1 Sharston Link to M60 B J2 exit - carriageway closure for barriers - Permanent.

• M60, from 8pm June 10 to 6am June 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise J27 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm June 10 to 5am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 clockwise J2 to J4 - Lane closure for Structure - maintenance.

• M60, from 8pm June 18 to 6am June 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 1 to 24 - Lane closures and carriageway closure for carriageway - Reconstruction/Renewal.

• M60, from 9pm June 19 to 6am June 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 Anticlockwise, junction 1 - 27 lane closures and slip road closure due to inspections.

• M60, from 8.30pm June 20 to 5am June 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M60 anti-clockwise, junction 3 - carriageway closure for barriers.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
