Salford road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 9pm November 1 to 6am December 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 14 to 16 due to electrical works.

And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 9pm November 23 to 5am November 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, J11 to J12 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs.

• M62, from 10pm November 29 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 westbound, jct 12 to jct 10 - lane closures for electrical works.

• A556, from 8pm November 30 to 6am December 5, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound, junction 9 to junction 5 - carriageway closure for Electrical works.

• M60, from 9pm December 1 2022 to 6am January 1 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 14 to 16 due to electrical works.

• A627(M), from 8pm December 5 2022 to 6am January 21 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 18 - 20 lane closures due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
