Salford road closures: seven for motorists to avoid this week

Salford's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• M60, from 11pm December 16 to 5.30am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 both directions, junction 9 to junction 12 - lane closure for barriers.

• M60, from 7am November 28 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M602 East and westbound, junction 2 to roundabout lane closures due to inspection works.

• M60, from 8pm December 15 to 6am December 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 westbound to M61 northbound, - carriageway closure for communications.

• M60, from 9pm December 1 2022 to 6am January 1 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A580 eastbound and westbound, M61 northbound and southbound, junction 1 to 3, M60 clockwise and Anticlockwise, junction 14 to 16 due to electrical works.

• A627(M), from 8pm December 5 2022 to 6am January 21 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound and westbound, jct 18 - 20 lane closures due to maintenance works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M60, from 11pm December 19 to 5am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 clockwise Jun 10 to Jun 11 - lane closure for electrical works.

• M60, from 8.30pm December 21 to 5am December 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M60 anticlockwise jct 17 - 16 lane closures due to barrier repair.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
